It was great to participate in the ‘Biochemical Process’ Winter School at the National University of Columbia at Medellin.
3D rocking-motion offers interesting potentials to cultivate cells and microorganisms for various purposes, as currently performed in a successful cooperation between Columbian and German universities. The CELL-tainer technology is used for the investigation of effects caused by low shear-force environments on plant cells and filamentous organisms. Promising results of these and other applications were presented in the three-day course for Columbian students.
